Did you know the hippie subculture was originally a youth movement that arose in the United States during the mid-1960s, swiftly spreading to other countries around the world. The Hippie culture remains evident in 2011!!!

I love LOVE love the hippie style ... man. Ya, I just can't wear it as often as I'd like because I work a lot.

Did you also know the word "hip" came from Black culture and denotes awareness? To say "I'm hip to the situation" means "I am aware of the situation." Thus the word "hippie" means "one who is aware".  It's sooo true man, I looked it up. ;o)
