flashback friday ~ this one's for Grandpa

I absolutely LOVE this photo of
my grandfather and his crew in WWII.

We are very lucky to have grandpa with us still today.
My big brother used this photo as inspiration for one of his tattoos.

Here are a few numbers from the 1940s ... WOW!

What Things Cost in 1940:
Car: $800
Gasoline: 18 cents/gal - huh?
House: $6,550 - WHOA!
Bread: 8 cents/loaf
Milk: 34 cents/gal
Postage Stamp: 3 cents
Average Annual Salary: $1,900 - hmmm
Minimum Wage: 30 cents per hour
